Do that trail. Go to that Park. Take that trip! Quick! Before its too late!
How is it that we all have become so rushed? I left a career of rushed. Some of my first jobs were in roles where time was of the essence. McDonalds. A photo lab. Bartending. Title Insurance. Each of these roles were all governed by deadlines…timelines. Get it done…3 minutes, 1 hour, one day, one month…hurry to get the job done. Ugh. Life is happening around us at hundred miles an hour. When do we even have time to enjoy any of it?
I understand…families should always come first. And things like jobs fall in there as a close second, after all, things like eating and having a roof over our head are important…now more than ever!
Where does that leave us time to really enjoy the things that we want to do? We have for the most part spent the past 2 months wondering about what the future looks like. What will we do different going forward?
We hear talk of bucket list items, but it all sounds like a fantasy. Well, I gave up that secure life of sitting behind a desk and waiting for a paycheck. Yes, I had a huge support system in my wife and family at the time, but its not for everyone. We have all been told that we should “follow your dreams”….”do what you are passionate about”. How do we give up what we know, get out and live outside of our comfort zone to follow the things we are passionate about?
It turns out that people matter. Jeepers matter. Pictures of Jeeps matter. The things that we call material don’t matter. Wait, what? Isn’t a Jeep material? Yes, it is, but it is an enabler. It enables us to follow our dreams, our passions. It enables us to escape the things that we deal with each and every day. It provides us an escape from the ordinary.
I can’t think of any other vehicle or thing that provides us the same opportunities. Really. Maybe a surfboard. Maybe some sort of drug. It really is amazing what Jeep has given us….and I’m pretty sure that back in the day they had NO idea.
Industries have been created around this vehicle.
Careers have been created around this vehicle.
An entire lifestyle has been created. An entire FAMILY has been created around this vehicle. Now, more than ever, we need to make sure we are taking advantage of the time we have to do the things that are important to us! Hopefully we can all get back out on the trails soon, and I hope to see every single one of you!
