Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 24 of The ModernJeeper Show… the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.

This week is another special Flashback Episode. Back when ModernJeeper was just a nascent website and the idea of a podcast was just a whim, Matson interviewed several industry leaders while at the 2015 Off Road Expo in Pomona, California.

Each interview was about 30 minutes long, and was conducted from a table at Metalcloak’s 20 x 30 booth right in the middle of the show and you can clearly hear all the action going on around us.

In this Flashback Episode, Matson is joined by John Herrick, the man who saved CRAWL Magazine and has successfully published it 6 times a year since resurrecting it in September 2009.

John shares with us how he went from selling toxic loans to Wall Street to owning CRAWL magazine, the basic fundamentals of business success, how to keep your brand engaged, what his favorite trail is (hint it’s in West Virginia), why being irrelevant scares him, his favorite Jeep, why your passion grows his passion, how 70 hours a week building the magazine is easy work as long as he’s doing it for you, what you should consider if you were going to start your own magazine, what products at Off Road Expo he is most impressed with and the answer to our favorite question of the day… “finish this sentence… Metalcloak Is…”
