RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – Armored Works, LLC, parent company of premier off-road suspension and body armor manufacturer Metalcloak, has completed an asset purchase agreement of the Kargo Master Safari (KMS) line of Jeep racks and accessories from Kargo Master, a subsidiary of Auto Truck Group, a work truck upfitter specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of truck and van equipment.
“We are excited to bring Kargo Master Safari into our growing line of innovative precision-manufactured products for the off-road enthusiast,” said Matson Breakey, Co-Founder of Metalcloak. “Like Metalcloak, KMS is known for having a premier product line, a passionate customer base, and an excellent reputation. This combination is a perfect fit for Metalcloak and all we stand for.”
Founded in 2009, Metalcloak has grown from three revolutionary Jeep products to over 900 suspension, fender and bumper products for open-top Jeeps and Ram Trucks. “The Overlanding market is experiencing explosive growth,” adds Matson. “While our core skill set would allow us to design and develop our own line of racks, acquiring KMS gives our incredible team proven products already well established in the marketplace.”
Kargo Master introduced the Kargo Master Safari line of products in 1982 to fulfill their personal passion for Jeeps and adventure. In recent years, the success of Kargo Master’s lineup of commercial exterior racks and interior storage solutions has fueled the company’s growth making this segment the primary strategic focus moving forward. According to Pete Dondlinger, president of Auto Truck Group, parent company of Kargo Master, “While the decision to exit the Jeep aftermarket was made with mixed emotions, we are confident that KMS will thrive as part of the MetalCloak family and continue serving the enthusiast community for years to come.”
Off-road and overlanding enthusiasts will continue to benefit from Metalcloak’s customer-centric approach and world-class manufacturing.
