The ModernJeeper Show, Ep. 14 – The Flashback Episode with Ian Johnson at Off Road Expo [circa 2015]
Podcast April 25, 2019 ModernJeeper
Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 14 of The ModernJeeper Show… the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.
This week is the special Flashback Episode that we talked about in Episode #8 with Ian Johnson. Back when ModernJeeper was just a nascent website and the idea of a podcast was just a whim Matson had, he interviewed several industry leaders while at the 2015 Off Road Expo in Pomona, California.
Each interview was about 30 minutes long, and was conducted from a table at Metalcloak’s 20 x 30 booth right in the middle of the show and you can clearly hear all the action going on around us.
In this first Bonus Episode, Matson is joined by Ian Johnson and we open up by discussing the recent build Ian did for an American hero and double amputee John Curtain on his show Extreme Off Road – [there is a link to the episode in the show Helpful Links section below].
Then Ian discusses why he tells people he sells ladies underwear, what the greatest misconception is about his job, how a high-school shop teacher ended up on Monster Garage, the only thing that scares him, what it’s like traveling with a semi-pro paintball team, how he handles stress, and how he would finish the sentence “Metalcloak Is…”
As always, ModernJeeper is extremely grateful to our supporters including Warn Winches, Raceline Wheels, Bestop, Milestar Tires, Rugged Radios and, of course, Metalcloak.
So, sit back, relax with a cold one, and enjoy Episode number 14 of The ModernJeeper Show…
