Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 62 of The ModernJeeper Show… the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.

Well MJ listeners, we have all made it through another week! And that deserves a Congratulations to every single one of us!

This week, Matson, “Rockstar Jeep Girl” Jessy and myself, get the owner and extreme wheeler Mike Starkebaum, the owner of 4X4 Land in Topeka, Kansas, to share with us a little about his business, where his favorite trails are and what he is looking forward to the most this year!

We chat about why you should visit Kansas Rocks Off-road Park as well as what events are taking place there this year!

For our Tech Tip of the Week, we talk about what questions to ask when it comes time to upgrade. And here’s a hint: Spend the money once and do it right the first time!

As always, ModernJeeper is extremely grateful to our supporters including Warn WinchesRaceline WheelsBestopMilestar TiresRugged Radios, KMS Adventure Racks, and, of course, Metalcloak.

After 23 years of corporate life, I decided to pursue my passions in the off road industry. Specializing in marketing, visibility, relationship and brand building, and acting as MetalCloak's field marketing representative, I have travelled across the country (quite a few times!) using Metalcloak’s CTI (Corner Travel Index) to educate the off road enthusiast. I have also worked with Jeep Jamboree USA as event staff, to provide additional value and education to its participants. I've been fortunate enough to work with both international as well as domestic media; have attended most of the off-road events across our country; and have driven a wide variety of vehicles. I'm a certified PADI scuba instructor and have a BS in Computer Science.

I really enjoyed the podcast. Mike Starkebaum and the crew at 4×4 Land are a first class shop.
They recently helped me replace a D30 with a D44 front axle trussed, and gusseted. I also bought Metal Cloak “Hardline” Fender Flares for my JK “Salty Pearl” through 4×4 Land. I just finished installing them on Tuesday. I met Corey last year at All-4-Fun in Buena Vista, CO running the CTI trailer (scored 640). Then we met again coming off the gate keeper to the Grizzly Lake Trail. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon. I look forward to meeting Matson someday.

Awesome interview! I’ve had the pleasure to know and wheel with Mike Starkebaum for quite a few years and he’s a stand up guy that truly does care about fellow jeepers. Proud to call him a friend! When it comes to Mike what you hear in this interview is the real thing, very down to earth and honest and has a passion for Jeeping and off-road world.
