Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 54 of The ModernJeeper Show… the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers!

With the events that took place on a lakebed in Johnson Valley, California about two weeks ago still on our minds, this week we are taking a look back at the King of the Hammers 2019 event! In fact, we are taking a look from the perspective of last year’s King, Jason Scherer.

Matson & I have a great conversation with Jason on a wide range of topics including how he stays physically fit, the extraordinary diet we had no idea he was on, who he thinks is the best Ultra4 driver in the rocks, how he keeps his team motivated, what he does to stay hydrated and healthy while racing, managing radio comms and split times, how he ended up with a Fox wrap this year and, finally, catheter or man diaper?

Then we will share with you our TechTip of the Week and get some great insight from Jason on not only how it applies to his race car, but to his CJ-6 and this Truck and Trailer as well…

With our Death Valley Adventure starting this coming weekend, Matson and myself hope to bring you some Adventure love from the Valley in next week’s podcast! You can check out registration for upcoming Adventures at ModernJeeperAdventures.com.

As always, ModernJeeper is extremely grateful to our supporters including Warn WinchesRaceline WheelsBestopMilestar TiresRugged Radios, KMS Adventure Racks, and, of course, Metalcloak.

After 23 years of corporate life, I decided to pursue my passions in the off road industry. Specializing in marketing, visibility, relationship and brand building, and acting as MetalCloak's field marketing representative, I have travelled across the country (quite a few times!) using Metalcloak’s CTI (Corner Travel Index) to educate the off road enthusiast. I have also worked with Jeep Jamboree USA as event staff, to provide additional value and education to its participants. I've been fortunate enough to work with both international as well as domestic media; have attended most of the off-road events across our country; and have driven a wide variety of vehicles. I'm a certified PADI scuba instructor and have a BS in Computer Science.
