The ModernJeeper Show, Ep. 51 – “A Day in the Life” at King of the Hammers Everyman Challenge

Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 51 of The ModernJeeper Show… the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.

You know, last week, we didn’t really make a big deal out of it… but that was episode 50! Pretty cool to hit that mark. And thank you to all of you for continuing to support our humble little show.

This week is another experiment of sorts.

Mr. ModernJeeper Corey Osborne and RockStar Jeep Girl Jessy Greenland are at KOH! They’ve been there for about 5 days now, and we decided to try something new for all of you.

This episode is a “day in the life” experience. The recording was made on Wednesday, February 5, during the 4WP Everyman Challenge at King of the Hammers. The EMC race, as it is known, has three classes, 4600 (the stock class), 4500 (stock-mod) and 4800 (legends class).

We join Corey and Jessy as they just finished up with the Media Briefing that started at a brisk 6:00 AM. That meant that they were up at 4, on the road by 5 in order to be at Hammertown and the briefing by 6.

From there, they talk to some of the racers who are getting lined up early in the morning anxiously awaiting the race to start. Then you can follow them as they explore a bit of the track including a new area called Guacamole.

Due to the nature of this show, we don’t have a tech tip, other than one simple one we’ll share with here… if your heater starts to turn cold in your JK, check your coolant level and if that is unexpectedly low, you may need to replace your radiator cap. Thank you, Scott, at Cloakworks 4×4 for spotting that one on my Cloak’d JK. It’s good to be warm again.
