Setting was a small campground north of Buena Vista, Colorado, Arrowhead Point RV Campground
Set Them Free is put together by Gianni and Betsey Vecchiarelli who had a vision to help fight human trafficking, this was the 3rd year for the event.
In 2010, Gianni and Betsey found themselves as a crossroads. They were both working corporate jobs, striving to secure a rhythm in schedule as they prepared to start a family. Gianni’s job required four or five trips to China each year and for him, this is where it all started. One evening, after a long day of meetings and factory visits, out of respect his colleagues planned a Chinese cultural experience for the US team. The evening included dinner, foot massages, and karaoke (female companion included). Four young girls ran the private karaoke room as if they had been entertaining gentlemen for years…they probably had. But Gianni could see it in their eyes. A cry for rescue. Immediately, Gianni was confronted with a decision at the end of the night. Either take his escort back to his hotel room or leave the young girl to the fate of the sex for sale industry. Neither seemed like an option.

Set Them Free, Inc. is a non-profit fund raising organization created for the purpose of funding the rescue and rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking. Our mission is simply, “Set the victims of human trafficking free.” We exist with the goal of ending human trafficking globally. Our purpose is to raise money for those rescuing and rehabilitating the victims of human trafficking as well changing culture and laws around the world.

This event is continuing to grow, this years was the biggest to date.
This is a wheeling event, a family event and all supporting a great cause…while folks do show up early for registration and the vendor show, many do not show up until late on Friday to wheel on Saturday and Sunday. If you happen to be in Colorado around this time next year…make sure it’s on your list of wheeling trips!
