Is the off-road industry dead? We don’t think so…in fact we think it’s far from it…but SEMA can tend to warp your perspective! Our followers know that we have been skipping around a bit this past year as we figure out what we want to do when we grow up! We didn’t attend the SEMA show last year as it just didn’t fit into our schedule…or into our vision as to what ModernJeeper was all about. But, I’m here to tell you all that we are back! And while I don’t have a lot of details of what this next year will look like, I do know that this is truly what I am passionate about. I do know that I enjoy sharing the offroad lifestyle with you all in whatever way that I can! YOU all are our family….whether you like it or not!

The feedback has come in and believe me that it has been heard! I can’t put into words the support and love that you all have shown to us through the past number of years…I feel truly blessed! We will do our very BEST to keep the passion and spirit alive that we started 10 years ago!

So this year’s SEMA Show proved to support the passion that we feel had been missed in years past. While many of the faces have changed behind the companies, the passion is still very real. In fact, many of the new faces bring a new heartbeat into the industry and I think that’s a good thing! The industry is alive and thriving with new and exciting things…some may be a little ahead of their time or far fetched…but isn’t that what innovation is all about? I mean, we did see the biggest floor jack in the history of floor jacks…on 37″ tires no less 🙂 ProEagle

While we focus on the builds we have relationships with first, ie Metalcloak builds, we also want to look outside the box for the “cool” factor and the “unique and creative” builds. New parts that could make a difference…new designs and thoughts that are outside our “normal” thinking. This is where SEMA usually strives and while there are a lot of hatters and opinions, it does cause us to take a second look and maybe think a little differently! So, with all of that said, thanks for taking a look and following along with us as we browse through a bunch of images from this years SEMA Show!

In part two of this article we will share a few of the “other” images and builds that caught our eye!

As a teaser in what to look forward to in the next article…what if SEMA isn’t all about vehicles? As we walk around this HUGE event it’s nice to see some folks (Merrell) focusing on making us more comfortable and doing it with style! And yes…it’s for the ModernJeeper in all of us!

After 23 years of corporate life, I decided to pursue my passions in the off road industry. Specializing in marketing, visibility, relationship and brand building, and acting as MetalCloak's field marketing representative, I have travelled across the country (quite a few times!) using Metalcloak’s CTI (Corner Travel Index) to educate the off road enthusiast. I have also worked with Jeep Jamboree USA as event staff, to provide additional value and education to its participants. I've been fortunate enough to work with both international as well as domestic media; have attended most of the off-road events across our country; and have driven a wide variety of vehicles. I'm a certified PADI scuba instructor and have a BS in Computer Science.
