Now and then we just have to bring on a flashback and share stories of note. W.E.ROCK from 2016 is a good example of Motorsports fun that never gets old.

BRINGING ON THE EXTREME

The World Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series is not something new. Not hardly. Known as W.E. Rock, this is a rock crawling event that has taken place for a number of years and has also evolved from other aspects of rock racing events of the past. There needs to be emphasis on the word EXTREME.

With drivers like Jesse Haines, Tracy Jordan, Steve Nantz and Matt Messer and so many others…the events are always fun to watch!

Spectators  While this event is open to anyone that wishes to test their skills and compete in rockcrawling, this is NOT the jeep show obstacle course kind of thing! Taken from their website, there are a couple of things a spectator should know: Each team consist of three parts, the car, the driver and the spotter. Each team uses the best strategies for them to score the best possible score. Scoring is like golf, the lowest score wins. Each team starts the day at zero, the best teams will finish with negative scores for the day. They achieve those scores by completing the course on time, taking few backups, not hitting cones and taking bonus lines. There are other things that affect the scores, but these are the top items to watch for.

Competitors are subject to the following:  Rock Crawling is an inherently dangerous sport. Each competitor assumes that risk when he or she participates in an event. The risk of serious injury or death cannot be eliminated and, in fact, will always be present at a high level. Competitors are urged to advise their spouses and next of kin, if any, of this fact. By competing, all competitors, both spotter and driver, must agree to a set forth set of rules, safety standards and guidelines.

If you have not been to a W.R. Rock Event or a Dirt Riot Event (more on that in a separate article), I highly encourage you to do so! For additional information please visit this website:

After 23 years of corporate life, I decided to pursue my passions in the off road industry. Specializing in marketing, visibility, relationship and brand building, and acting as MetalCloak's field marketing representative, I have travelled across the country (quite a few times!) using Metalcloak’s CTI (Corner Travel Index) to educate the off road enthusiast. I have also worked with Jeep Jamboree USA as event staff, to provide additional value and education to its participants. I've been fortunate enough to work with both international as well as domestic media; have attended most of the off-road events across our country; and have driven a wide variety of vehicles. I'm a certified PADI scuba instructor and have a BS in Computer Science.
