Yep, I said it…or rather they said it 🙂 A company that is as passionate about their product as they are about the off-road family and lifestyle. Really.

As it turns out, this Modern Jeeper just happens to be close friends with some folks that have become a part of the DMOS Collective…you might know them as Trail Nut…but to us they are the original “Rocklanders“, Jim and his wife Deb, traveling to events across country in their highly modified rigs. Well, Jim and Deb just happened to be a few hours away from me so they stopped by my house for a few hours to show me some of the DMOS products…literally “jewelry for your rig” but much more rugged, durable and useful!

DMOS is driven by a spirit of strength and survival. One reason is the tenacity of company founder Susan Pieper, who digs deep into every challenge she tackles. Pieper cut her adventure teeth on 10,000 miles of open-ocean sailing. After migrating to the mountains, she discovered where a real 4×4 could take her—a passion that lead to raids like the 1200-mile Rebelle Rally where the tools you trust matter.

To put it into my own words, DMOS is real people making real (awesome) products. We unpackaged a few of their Delta Shovels, the Delta (steel) and the Delta Pro (aluminum) were both amazing tools of superior craftsmanship.

I decided to mount the Delta to the factory Jeep Rail System on the passenger side. I didn’t have any of the “T Nuts” to REPLACE INTO the rail, so I got creative. It turns out that the MetalCloak rear inner fender flare backing plates fit almost perfectly into the rail and give me a handy mounting location. I did have to shave a little of the edges off of the aluminum bracket, but that was easy work with a grinder.

And I mentioned the Stealth shovel as well. We took this thing out and beat on it in some icy snow in my driveway…and this thing just works. It has a super long extendable handle that is great for reaching under your rig as well. For sand and snow this shovel is perfect! And Stealthy!
