Yes. This year will be the year of the Jeep Gladiator…the JT. There will be LOTS of JT’s with tents, bed racks, fridges, gas cans, etc…overlanding gone wild…but is SEMA, the largest automotive show on the planet. For those that don’t know about SEMA, it stands for the Specialty Equipment Market Association.

The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition, the SEMA Show provides attendees with educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more. But it is not open to the public.

In 2018 SEMA Show drew more than 70,000 domestic and international buyers into the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Modern Jeeper will try and share with our readers the best and unique Jeeps and off road images we find at this years’ SEMA Show! The Show formally starts today, Tuesday, but we did get a chance to walk around a bit yesterday before the thousands of attendees arrive and caught a few builds that we thought were pretty cool.

Some of you may have heard of or seen the MoabMegaBuggy. If not, you can take a look at a few build pictures as Joe Riley was creating it on Facebook and Instagram. Pictures don’t do the amount of work in this thing justice!

Stay tuned throughout the week to see what SEMA has in store for us this year!

After 23 years of corporate life, I decided to pursue my passions in the off road industry. Specializing in marketing, visibility, relationship and brand building, and acting as MetalCloak's field marketing representative, I have travelled across the country (quite a few times!) using Metalcloak’s CTI (Corner Travel Index) to educate the off road enthusiast. I have also worked with Jeep Jamboree USA as event staff, to provide additional value and education to its participants. I've been fortunate enough to work with both international as well as domestic media; have attended most of the off-road events across our country; and have driven a wide variety of vehicles. I'm a certified PADI scuba instructor and have a BS in Computer Science.
