Our friend Chris Collard of Gone-Gpn spends some time with Jeep’s Head of Design, Mark Allen, during this year’s Easter Jeep Safari while riding in Jeep’s Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary Concept rig! With a ton of great history on how the Rubicon Jeep began and some insight into the history of the Rubicon Trail, Chris gives us some of that insider information that we all love!

The brand’s marketing team predicted that Jeep would sell 3,000 in the first year, and then sales would fall off a cliff after that. They couldn’t have been more wrong. Today, more than 30% of Jeep Wrangler sales are Rubicon trim. That’s more than 60,000 Rubicons per year! The 20th anniversary of the Rubicon is next year, so get ready for some exciting things to come!

After 23 years of corporate life, I decided to pursue my passions in the off road industry. Specializing in marketing, visibility, relationship and brand building, and acting as MetalCloak's field marketing representative, I have travelled across the country (quite a few times!) using Metalcloak’s CTI (Corner Travel Index) to educate the off road enthusiast. I have also worked with Jeep Jamboree USA as event staff, to provide additional value and education to its participants. I've been fortunate enough to work with both international as well as domestic media; have attended most of the off-road events across our country; and have driven a wide variety of vehicles. I'm a certified PADI scuba instructor and have a BS in Computer Science.
