Cal4’s 54th Annual Sierra Trek is ON!

High Country Adventure at the 54^th Annual Sierra Trek!

The West’s premier family off-road venue is back in action for 2021.

If you have been itching to get back on the trail for a high-country family adventure, Sierra Trek is your ticket to ride. What began in 1967 as a weekend Jeep trip and BBQ, now features a dozen guided four-wheel drive and ATV/UTV trips ranging from historic tours through the Gold Country to a traverse of the infamous Fordyce Creek Trail.

With a rich history reaching back more than five decades, Sierra Trek has become one of California’s most iconic OHV events and is gearing up for a gala celebration. Each year, volunteer clubs reconstruct the 1860s mining camp Summit City, replete with the Wild West Saloon, chuck-wagon-style kitchen, a dance hall, and two nights of live music. Other attractions include a manufacturer midway with dozens of vendors, the 4×4 show, and kids’ games. Basecamp is located on the along the shores of Meadow Lake in the northern Sierra Nevada, and when participants are not on the trail they can explore its shores in a canoe, cast a trout line, or soak in the sun.

When the sun goes down and the band takes the stage, trekkers belly up to the saloon’s old wooded bar, share yarns around the bonfire, and kick up their heels on the dance floor. On Saturday night, Trek’s world famous raffle will be handing out more than $30,000 in gear from BFGoodrich, 4Wheel Parts, Metalcloak, ARB, Warn, and dozens of other vendors.

The event is presented by the California Four-wheel Drive Association and this year Trek will celebrate its 54^th anniversary—after a year of pandemic mayhem, they will be pulling out all the stops. Their motto is, “Come for the trails, stay for the party.” Sierra Trek event takes place near Truckee, California, on August 12-15, 2021, and registration includes most meals, trail rides, and all camp activities.
