A happy Jeep, is a clean Jeep! Especially when it comes to keeping things clean underneath the hood!

Yesterday I posted a couple of quick images as I cleaned underneath the hood of “Golden Spike”, my 2004 Jeep LJ. After sharing the pictures on Instagram, I had a ton of questions about what I used, how long it took, and if it was really that difficult.

In 30 minutes, I went from this:

To this:

There are only five things that you will need:

  1. Gunk brand Engine Degreaser (I used the original formula)
  2. Gunk brand Engine Shine
  3. Running water
  4. A plastic bag to cover open air filters or critical electronics
  5. A brush (will help with really thick spots)

Gunk makes a whole line of engine cleaners!

This morning when I was putting this article together, I also found a great video done by a friend of mine, Mr. Matt Kime. I met Matt on an Ultimate Adventure many years ago and he has been a representative for Gunk products for a long time! A shout out to Matt for introducing me to Gunk products all those years ago!

Stay safe! Stay Clean!

I have also worked with Jeep Jamboree USA as event staff, to provide additional value and education to its participants. I've been fortunate enough to work with both international as well as domestic media; have attended most of the off-road events across our country; and have driven a wide variety of vehicles.
