The Grand Canyon is one of the most popular vacation spots in the USA. I’ve seen almost every rim and I can’t say I’ve found a bad view.

You can visit the north, east, south or west rims. The north rim closes down for winter, but the south rim stays open year-round.

Many people choose to visit the south rim. Here you can find lots of infrastructure, and even a village. A lot of it is also ADA friendly in comparison to other rims.

At the south rim, you can Jeep around to different overlooks and cover a good amount of ground. It is the most popular rim to visit, so take that how you like, but when you see it you understand why it’s such a sought-out location.

If you head up to the east rim, there are lots of places to explore surrounding the Grand Canyon within Navajo Nation. Visiting Monument Valley or Antelope Canyon paired with the Grand Canyon would make an unforgettable trip.

The west rim is closest to Las Vegas, Nevada and boasts the iconic Skywalk, which is a glass floor bridge you can walk on for a unique perspective.

The north rim is a bit less traveled than others and is closed for the colder months. It will take an extra four hours from the south rim to hit the north rim, so plan accordingly. It’s a big place!

As you Jeep around the Grand Canyon, make sure you keep an eye out for wildlife! I saw elk numerous times while I was there. Don’t get too close and disturb them, but wow, are they cool to watch.

Although the surrounding Grand Canyon landscape is more desert-like, the south rim is full of trees, just like Flagstaff, AZ. It almost makes you forget you’re in Arizona! It can get pretty hot and is generally pretty windy at the Grand Canyon so be prepared.

Whether you choose to camp or stay at a local resort or hotel, you’re guaranteed to have a blast. There is lots of hiking, Jeeping and adventuring to be done at the Grand Canyon. You won’t be disappointed!
