JEEPING LIFESTYLE WITH BEACHES, DESTROYERS, PANDAS AND HISTORY

During my time in California, I knew I had to go check out San Diego. This is one of the most well known cities in SoCal. From the San Diego Zoo to the beach, there are all kinds of fun things to do for everyone. The San Diego Zoo is one of only four zoos in the entire United States that has pandas. So if you want to see these awesome creatures and a ton of other cool animals, I highly recommend this stop.

Your Jeep may experience a bit of culture shock depending on what you’re used to. The San Diego area is very busy with limited parking. As you can guess, the more touristy spots are going to be more populated. I went during the summer and everyyyyonneeee wanted to be at the beach so it was pretty hectic. It took a few days of exploring to find the less crowded beaches.

There are a variety of beaches to go to in the area, including La Jolla Cove, Mission Beach and the Pier. La Jolla is a super popular hang out spot hidden between luxury shops in SoCal. Here you can lounge on the beach, enjoy water sports, or watch the sea lions play.

If you want to learn some history about the area, head to Point Loma Lighthouse. You can capture some awesome views of the Bay and even go up into the lighthouse. Located in Cabrillo National Monument, you pass through a big cemetery and other crazy views of the city as you head towards the lighthouse.

Next door is the visitor center and this awesome view of the city. We spent a good amount of time here just hanging out and watching the ships roll in. San Diego has a huge naval scene, so don’t be surprised to see crazy ships like the Destroyer in the picture below sailing through the harbor!

Another fun place to learn some history is at the Hotel Del Coronado. The legendary Marilyn Monroe, as well as royalty and even presidents have stayed here. Although there are rumors that the hotel is haunted, many people still stay at the hotel to this day.

If you’re staying the night and want to head out for a night of fun, head over to the Gaslamp Quarter. There are tons of restaurants and bars to explore. Thanks for reading my blog! Where are your favorite places to explore in San Diego?
