TRAVELERS, ADVENTURERS, DESPERADOES AND DREAMERS ON ROUTE 66

Get your kicks on Route 66! Historic Route 66 is one of the most famous roads in the USA. The old route stretches over 2,000 miles from Illinois to California. Many people ride the whole thing by motorcycle from start to finish, but you can do it in a Jeep too. So I did.

Although I didn’t go from start to finish all in one trip, I’ve hit many different parts along the way. There are a ton of cool things to see along Route 66. Plus, you cross through eight states along the Route, all filled with tons of cool things to see and do. Instead of planning one large trip, you can plan to hit different areas when it works for you.

Route 66 starts in Illinois, so be sure to hit Chicago! I loved the Windy City when I visited a few years ago. As you keep heading south into Missouri and be sure to see the iconic Gateway Arch. I was shocked at how big it looks in real life, don’t miss it.

Then you’ll head through Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, and lastly, California. I stopped in a ton of places in New Mexico and Arizona especially. I am currently in California, hoping to see the rest of it. No matter what state you visit, you will have an amazing road trip! What are your favorite places along this fun route?
