Bestop Expands with Acquisition of PRP Seats

Aaron Wedeking, president of custom seat maker PRP Seats, announced today the acquisition of his holding company, KAMM Industries, by Bestop Premium Accessories Group. The acquisition includes two additional brands, Status Racing and SpeedStrap, both companies acquired by KAMM in recent years.

Aaron, via email, said this exciting development would present a “huge opportunity for us to really accelerate the growth of the PRP Seats brand and culture.”

PRP Seats will continue to operate as an “independent entity” allowing for it’s own unique culture that has developed award winning, trail tested, and race proven products for Jeeps, UTV’s and custom buggies.

According to the release, Aaron will continue to be at the helm, taking advantage of the new partnership continuing to “grow and be able to the great products that make PRP what it is today.”

Bestop is recognized as the leading manufacturing of Jeep soft tops as well as the exclusive OE soft top provider to the new Jeep Wrangler JL.

In 2015 Bestop was acquired by Kinderhook/Magna and started an aggressive campaign of acquisition that includes Baja Designs, Tuffy Security and Morris 4×4 Center. Bestop Premium Accessories Group was established to manage their growing list of properties.
