The major auto companies have, for decades, followed a well rehearsed pattern for release of new vehicle models – but this may not be the case with the much desired 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

It is not unheard of for companies to change that pattern (like the ’88 Beretta released in February ’87), but for as long as we can remember, new models hit the dealerships around August. In fact, if you check the date on the vehicle label inside the door, in most cases anything August and later is the following year model.

So it was with great anticipation that Jeep Lovers around the world have been hoping to find the JL Wrangler at their local dealerships sometime in the early Fall 2017.

And now we all may need to wait a few months more.

According to the Toledo Blade, the $700 Million retooling of the Toledo, Ohio, plant where the JK Wrangler is currently manufactured will not be completed until mid-November.

For aftermarket parts manufacturers who are eagerly waiting to get there hands on a model to start prototyping their own enhancements to the JL, this delay can throw a real cog in their 2018 marketing plans.

But, for fans, this delay may just build up the anticipation even more.
